Department Of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Care

The scope of Anesthesiology practice extends beyond the traditional surgical suite to include preoperative evaluation and management of underlying clinical conditions, postoperative care including acute pain management, critical care, resuscitation, retrieval, chronic pain management and palliative care. With this background and with a motto of further development the department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative care is established at AIIMS Rajkot on 31/12/2021.

To be a center par excellence in academics, research and practice in the field of Anaesthesiology, Critical Care and Pain Medicine.

Mission:

 The Department of Anaesthesiology and Perioperative care aims to -

Excel in Medical Training: To provide the best academic environment to train the next generation of anaesthesiologists, intensivists and pain specialists.

To train medical and paramedical staff and students in basic life support skills.

To promote continuing education in the field of Anaesthesiology, Critical Care and Pain by organizing CME’s, conferences and workshops.

Excellence in Clinical Care: To provide evidence-based peri-operative services to patients undergoing surgeries

To provide state-of-the-art evidence-based multi-modal pain management services to patients suffering from acute, chronic non-cancer and caner pain.

Excellence in Research: To promote research in anaesthesia, critical care, and pain medicine to advance patient care.

OPD timings in hospital:

Monday to Friday: 9 AM to 5 PM

Saturday: 9 AM to 1 PM

Location: 207, Second Floor, OPD complex, Main Campus

Observation Room: 10 bedded with multipara monitors and ventilators (Ground floor)
